Don't Sweat The Small Stuff

“DON’T SWEAT THE SMALL STUFF”

Living A Life That Really Matters

You probably remember Richard Carlson’s best-selling book called “Don’t Sweat The Small Stuff … And It’s All Small Stuff.” The truth, of course, is that more of life is small stuff than we often think, it’s not all small stuff. One of the chapters in Carlson’s book is titled, “Ask Yourself The Question: Will This Matter A Year From Now?” Good question, isn’t it? Answering that question helps us distinguish between what really is just small stuff and what really does matter in life.

Jesus would agree wholeheartedly with Richard Carlson, I think: “Don’t sweat the small stuff.” Do you remember what Jesus taught us in the Sermon on the Mount? “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink, or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes?” (Matthew 6:25) Jesus wants us to quit sweating the small stuff so we can give our lives to what really matters. By his words Jesus taught us what really matters. By his life Jesus showed us what really matters. And by his death and resurrection Jesus made it possible for us to live lives that really matter. Join us at Cornerstone this spring as we discover together how to live the life Jesus came to give us – a life that really matters!
