The Bible is very clear about this – you are not an accident.  God had a purpose for creating you.  In fact, God even had a plan for where and when you would be born.  In Acts 17:26 the Bible says, “From one man he made every nation of men, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he determined the times set for them and the exact places where they should live.” 

But it’s one thing to know we have a purpose in life; it’s another to know what it is.  That’s what we will be discovering together as we embark on a spiritual journey called “40 Days of Purpose.”  This is a journey some of us at Cornerstone took together in 2002.  In fact, millions of people around the world have taken this journey.  Pastor Rick Warren’s book “The Purpose Driven Life”, which we will be reading together over the next 40 days, is – after the Bible – the best selling book in history.  And now we are going to take this journey again as a church family, to make sure each of us has a clear grasp on God’s purposes for our lives.

Let me encourage each of us to determine right now to make the very most of this opportunity.  Let’s read the book together, let’s get involved in a small group, let’s make Sunday morning worship a priority … and let’s invite God to reveal himself to us in a fresh and powerful way.  Join us this fall at Cornerstone as we discover together “what on earth we’re here for!”
